Stimulator, hoppers, stoneflies and just about any dry in the size 8 to 12 size frame are worth a shot. The water is crystal clear and the bigger fish are hard to fool but the smaller fish are chowing. You can use a dropper under your dry fly but it really is not even worth it.

California - The River is low from Tahoe City to Boca Bridge. The best fishing has been from the confluence of the Little Truckee to the state line where the flows are perfect. Water temperatures have dropped and the fish are getting active. Dead drifting crayfish patterns and October caddis with a smaller dropper like a baetis or any size 14-18 darker bodied nymph has been producing.
