Mazatlan appears to be gaining momentum as the fall fishing season
approaches. High boat for the week was the "Aries V", with a single
day's catch of 1 blue marlin, 3 sailfish and 2 dorado. Angler
activity was very slow this past week and there were only 4 offshore
fishing days for the fleet that reflected a total of 1 blue marlin, 5
sailfish, 16 dorado and 1 red shark. Inshore, the super Pangas also
fished 4 days and reported 12 dorado and 16 sierra for their efforts.
Mazatlan Climate: Partly cloudy days, 75 nights to 89 daytime highs
and humid.
Sea Conditions: Excellent! Temps are 87-88 degrees throughout the
area and the seas are mostly calm with very little swell.
Best Fishing Area: 22-28 miles southwest of the Marina El Cid
Best Bait/Lure: Rigged mullet were the better baits this past week.
