The Trinity still has new fish coming up the system from the Klamath. The big story is the March Browns hatching right now in the upper sections above Douglas City. Heck, they are coming off lower in the river as well. Look for rise forms, big rise forms. The adults are eating the emerging mayflies. Otherwise, for flies, Golden Stones continue to be a good nymph choice. Psycho Princes, Pheasant Tails and all of the Euronymph jobbers are working too. Between now and the end of the month would be your best shot at hooking an adult steelhead on a dry fly. Early Summer Run Steelhead on the Trinity River will take swung flies readily. Spey rods are becoming an increasingly popular method to swing flies.
