The Fat Lady is Not Singing Yet
Still some fantastic offshore fishing to report, and if we don't get any large storms, there would be no reason we won't see yellowfin for Halloween. There continues to be a huge spread of fish, from the 277 to Colonet and beyond. The schools of dolphin around the 277 and mackerel bank are holding a nicer grade of yellowfin tuna, to 30 pounds. Kelps from the 43 and below are holding yellowfin, dorado and smaller yellowtail. The most consistent action seems to be coming for the 371, San Salvador Knoll and 230 spot. Breaking fish and kelps with lots of tuna. The weather was poor earlier in the week, and calmed to flat yesterday and today. However, it looks like the weather may come up a bit for the weekend, so be sure to check conditions before you go. We have several great links on our links page

The Coronado Islands fishing has been consistent for big bonito and occasional yellowtail in the middle grounds and south kelp ridge. Not a lot to report from Catalina and San Clemente Islands, as most boats in that area are fishing tuna and marlin offshore.
Best bet for sportboat action is on a 1 1/2 day trip. There is good fishing in 1 day range, but your success rate jumps way up on the 1 1/2 day trip. Long range boats are seeing one of the best fall seasons in years for wahoo, tuna, yellowtail and dorado, so if you have a trip coming up, you should be very excited.
Fishing in the east cape of baja is being called epic. Some of the best tuna action in years. Just in time for our Palmas de Cortez/Let's Talk Hook-up trip October 14.
