It appears that the fishing turn-around has taken place in Cabo San Lucas, following the residual effects of Hurricane Rick. Largest fish for the week was taken by Colorado angler, Chris Turner, fishing aboard the "Fish Cabo I", with Captain Christian Lopez. Following a 75 minute battle, Mr. Turner landed a 350 blue marlin on 60 lb. test line, trolling an unnamed artificial, just above the Golden Gate Bank. The fish would have qualified and was taken on the first day of the Bisbee Tournament, but the client was not in the event. We saw an increase of yellowfin tuna this week with fish in the respectable 60 lb. class coming from the area near the Jaime Bank. Overall combined fish counts for the 49 fishing days reflected 2 blue marlin, 13 stripers, 3 sailfish, 45 yellowfin tuna and 181 dorado.

Cabo Climate: Back to sunny and warm days with temps from 68 nights to a pleasant 84 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Very fishable in most any direction with the mainstay of the boats fishing on the Pacific side of Cabo. Temps ranged from 79-82 on the Pacific side and climbed to 83-84 on the Gorda Banks side.

Best Fishing Area: The Pacific side, especially the Golden Gate and the Jaime Bank.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait was best for the billfish, albeit, the bigger blue marlin was taken on an artificial at the upper edge of the Golden Gate Bank.

Live Bait Supply: Mostly caballitos and a good supply.
