As the passengers and crew of the Morning Star saw today, Gray Whales are not always the star of the show on the Oregon Coast! Today we were lucky enough to see a special species called the Harbor porposie (Phocoena phocoena). These speedy little guys can grow to be about 5 1/2 feet and 170 pounds. They love to snack on schooling fish but will snag the occasional octopus or squid when given the chance. We are so excited to check the Harbor porpoise off the long list of things we can take you to see in the magnificent North Pacific Ocean.
