https://www.tradewindscharters.com/During our Whale Watching excursions today we witnessed some different behavior from our resident Gray Whales. While they normally dive down to feed off the bottom, there was a bunch of surface actitivy leading us to believe that the whales decided to possibly feed on some floating crab larvae or a small crustacean such as krill. When it comes to nature, nothing is ever totally set in stone and we love to see new behaviors so we can continue to grow our understanding of these species.

Another day, another whale! Today we were very pleased to see a number of individual Gray Whales traveling straight then a little ways south of Depoe Bay. As the Northern migration comes to an end, the whales we see this time of year are our residents. These guys will stick around until the end of summer when they move along to different feeding grounds. Come Autumn we will begin to see the Southern migratory whales on their way to breed and have their calves......
