The Upper Deschutes has been fishing fair. We have heard a mix of reports from up there. Green Drakes will be becoming important from now until the end of the month. PMD’s will also be on the menu. Nymphing with a large stonefly pattern and a small mayfly or caddis dropper and targeting deeper water and undercut banks is a good tactic. Stripping flies around some over the downed trees and cover is also a good tactic. Dry-droppers are also a fun spring/summertime tactic on this stretch. The upper is a gorgeous place to spend a day so get up there and enjoy!
