Trout fishing at Eel Lake has started to slow down

Trout fishing at Eel Lake has started to slow down with the warmer water temperatures.  Anglers may need to fish a little deeper on warm sunny days to catch trout.   With the warming water temperatures, anglers are reporting catching some trout with lots of copepods. This is common in Eel Lake this time of the year. Anglers should be careful of the large wild coho smolts that are still in the lake. There are no kokanee in Eel Lake and all coho salmon need to be released immediately.

Crappies and bluegills will be feeding along the edge of the weedlines. Bank anglers can find decent fishing off the fishing dock.
