Thank you power loaders. This is a good example why the shoal at the ramp has widened on both sides of the dock and shallowed up fast this season. A lot of people needlessly power loading as lake levels drop toward 2015 elevations (lowest years since 1939). Yes it's the easy way & ya don't get your feet wet. Big deal. We grew up doing it until we learned what doing it did. Same thing happened in spalding marina years ago. Ya blow out the hole but it has no place to go but between your boat and the rise behind you...lake comes after the rise. If you took the boating certification course & test, the reasons NOT to power load are highly detailed in drawings as well saying not to do it...our ramp is textbook image ...so since we are on borrowed time already at the ramp, we really don't need help making it worse. Labor Day is coming up. Help us get thru Labor Day & stop power loading. This was a jet drive. We'll have photos next week so y'all know what you're getting into! Doable today.
