We have experienced some very hot days lately and it is good to see that the shorter days are not heating the water nearly as much. With the temps coming down beginning this weekend we should see the water begin to cool even more. For now, fish above at least Simms. The water is extremely clear and the fish are eating smaller black offerings. Both red and black Zebra Midges in #18 - 20 are always a good idea along with your favorite Baetis nymph like a black Micro May, Two Bit Hooker, or any of the dark Perdigon patterns. A large number of October Caddis nymphs have migrated and will be pupating soon up in the Dunsmuir area. The Posse Bugger will work great for now, even the Mop Fly could be a good one. This fall should be a good hatch!
