The Lower Deschutes has been fishing well. Trout fishing remains good and nymphing will be your best bet for picking fish up throughout the day. Utilizing tungsten flies or using a split shot to get your nymph or nymphs down on the bottom is helpful. We like copper johns, two-bits, duracells, and october caddis to name a few. Swinging sculpin, crayfish and leech streamers is also a fun way to target some aggressive fish. There are Steelhead around and we have heard people picking them up swinging flies and nymphing. If you catch a wild fish please keep it in the water and release it quickly.
