Water Conditions: Good, showing 7 cfs as of 12/7
Remember, these are the flows just below Highway 395 on Mammoth Creek and ice can make this site unreliable.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Fair-Good
You can drive into all the parking lots but with the last couple of storms it's gotten dicier and I wouldn't recomend it if you have 2-wheel drive. I'm leaving up the following because after Friday it'll be true. Due to the storm the parking for the canyon section is at the Hot Creek Ranch driveway, PLEASE DO NOT BLOCK THEIR DRIVEWAY. The parking for the Interpretive site is out on Hot Creek Road so make sure there's room for passing cars.
A few Baetis still hatching but pretty much over until February. The mayfly hatches midday are now just the Baetis 10-2. The morning and evening hatches are almost all midges. Scuds and egg patterns will work all day. Don't forget the streamers and leeches.
I still tell my clients that a 4 second drift is average and finish with an aggressive pickup, you will hook fish you never knew existed.
