More rain is forecasted for this week and river levels are predicted to rise. There still may be heavy vegetation and debris in the water as this is one of the first big flushes of the season. You may need to tend to you fishing gear often to keep it clean. As the water begins to drop again, fishing conditions should improve. The fall Chinook run is winding down, but anglers might find some fresh fish moving. Anglers may want to switch gears and start targeting winter steelhea]ld.

The new winter steelhead authorization and wild steelhead tag requirements do not start until Jan. 1, 2023.

The wild Chinook bag limit has been reduced this year. As part of the 2 salmon/steelhead bag limit per day, anglers can retain 1 adult wild Chinook per day and only 2 for the season.

The bag limit reduction and continued gear restrictions are in place to reduce harvest on older age wild Chinook.
