The Nehalem is big as of this writing and still on the rise, it might fish by Sunday before going back up again, but it’s hard to tell. If it does green up it will still be on the high side. The mainstem Nehalem doesn’t have any hatchery steelhead releases, but there are wild steelhead available for catch-and-release fishing throughout the basin. Avoiding long fights and handling will reduce stress on released fish.
