The Little Truckee has been fishing well for those using nymphs under an indicator or with a euro rod. Unfortunately, the dry fly bite has been non-existent thus far, once we start seeing some warmer days we expect the baetis to start coming off. In the meantime, stick with subsurface presentations, focusing on soft water at the end of tail outs, behind boulders or on the edges of the river. This is essentially the same game as the main river, but on a downsized scale, and with smaller flies, lighter tippet due to the better water clarity. We still recommend using attractor nymphs such as worms, eggs, and stoneflies, but a few sizes smaller, and also pair them with a smaller nymph such as a BWO or a midge to provide the pickier fish with the option. 5x tippet will be sufficient at the moment especially for your larger attractors, This may be spring runoff and the water may be a bit dirty, but it’s still the Little Truckee and these fish are still picky.
