Hot Creek 9/8/23 - Flows Approx 45CFS - Water Temp 55

Rod Size:  #4-#5 Weights

Tippet Size: 3X

Leader: 7.5ft 3X

Best Techniques: Hopper Dropper, Indicator Nymphing

Dry Flies:  Chernobyl Ant #8-10, Chernobyl Grizzly #8, CDC PMD DUN #16, Yellow Stimulator #14-16

Nymphs: Flashback Scud, San Juan Worm, JuJu Baetis #16-18, WD-40 Black #18, Fox's Poopah Olive #16-18, Hot Creek Caddis #18, Old School Caddis #18, Drowned Trico Spinner #20-22

Streamers: Really doesn't matter.

I've been down on the San Joaquin but after the road closes I'll be here more often. Haven't heard much from any of my guide friends, but I'd say typical late summer early fall techniques. Afternoons and evenings are probably better than the mornings at this rate. Water is pretty cold in the mornings which has messed with the hatches all summer long here.
