The best sections to fish right now would be the top and lower. The next slug of fish should be entering the estuary as the tides increase and the river cools off. A slight warm up and a trolley of salmon have most of the fish in the middle sections relocated up to the upper sections well above Happy Camp. Below Iron Gate, the flows are somewhat steady between 1,000 & 1,100 CFS. Nymphing with Rubberlegs, Bird's Nests, Duracells and your favorite egg pattern will keep you hooked up to adult steelhead. The swing fishermen will find small intruders in earth colors useful. Assassins, Bret's Klamath Intruder, Ho-Boh Spey, and Hartwick's Silent Assassin will be good flies to swing. If you really want a good adrenaline rush now would be the time to throw that skater, Hoody's Hanger or Brett's Klamath Skater do a great job. November is a great month to fish the Klamath, if you would like to set up a day with a guide give Bryan or Chris a call in Outfitters (530)222-3555.
