https://troutcreekoutfitters.com/The Little Truckee continues to fish exceptionally well. The fall dry fly fishing is some of the best we’ve seen in a while. The BWO’s and midges have been coming off like clockwork, especially along the upper section of river. After a long year of angling pressure, these fish are especially picky right now, and it’s important to bring your A-Game out here to be successful. The flies are small, the tippet must be light and typically emerger patterns can out-fish the adults. These fish must be given a very stealthy approach and presentation to be able to consistently dupe them, but the payout can be great with some surprisingly large trout in the system. At 140 CFS, these flows are rarely seen this time of year. This will make for both great dry fly fishing, as well as great nymph fishing if you don’t see any noses popping up. If you are planning to spend most of your day here, consider having both a dry fly and a nymph set-up at your disposal. With no major storms in the forecast, we appear to have at least a few more solid weeks of great fall conditions out here and now is the time to check out this fishery as the crowds thin and conditions remain good.
