The Lower Deschutes has been fishing well. This time of year is great as the pressure is light and the fish are feeding well. The day stretch has been great and nymphing with eggs, zebra midges, duracells, girdle bugs, and two-bits has been working well. The whitefish are spawning and fired up this time of year so expect to find a few feisty ones. Don't forget the tribal side of the river is closed. Steelhead are around and have been hooked nymphing as well as swinging flies. If you catch a wild fish please leave it in the water and release it quickly.
