The Lower Deschutes is fishing good. Don’t forget that the tribal side of the river is closed until next year, and the day stretch section (Warm Springs to Trout Creek) closes at the end of this month. It will continue to fish well up until closing and we have liked girdle bugs, eggs, jigged leeches in maroon, spanish bullets, and zebra midges. Streamers are always a player on the Lower and some of our favorites are sculpzillas, crayfish, and leeches. Dry fly action will likely be sparse but keep an eye out for sippers and keep some BWOs and midges on hand.
