Steelhead counts over Bonneville have remained low through the first half of January. The Hood River Valley received quite a bit of snow over the past 10 days, and rain and warming temperature are forecasted. Hood River flows are expected to rise.‌

The winter steelhead run on the Hood River generally peaks mid-March and the bag limit is 3 hatchery steelhead per day. ‌

Winter steelhead are starting to show up in the Hood River, but not many fish have returned over Bonneville yet. Steelhead returns will increase through the New Year, with the run generally peaking mid-March. The bag limit is 3 hatchery steelhead per day.
