Fishing has been slow on the Nestucca, but mostly just because the water conditions haven't been great. Unfortunately, it looks like that trend will continue this week as it is predicted to stay above 8 feet for most of the week. Whenever it does come back into good shape, I expect there to be hatchery and wild (catch-and-release only for wilds) steelhead throughout the fishery. Hatchery steelhead on the Nestucca are from wild broodstock and as such peak January through March.
