The East Walker on the California side of the state line is closed until April 27. 2024. The Nevada side of the river is open through the Winter.
The Nevada side of the EW is still fishing pretty well, the weather has been pretty mild, especially compared to last year, and this is making for some good fishing. Not much going on for streamers and dries but the nymphing is pretty good. Small nymphs as well as stonefly nymphs have been the things to use. Some patterns to try include: copper John, perdigon nymph, pheasant tail, zebra midge, flashback emerger, micro stone, poxyback stone, San Juan worm, squirmy wormy and prince nymph.
