The Skawla Hatch has been sighted and confirmed on the Middle Deschutes. Water is normal, typical for the time of year and rushing cold water.
Good nymph fishing should be had on stonefly nymphs and run a caddis pupa or 2 bit hooker dropper with that. I’d also fish Soft hackle PT, Prince and Copper Johns through here.
Streamers are a good choice too, and fish great in March flows because once the irrigation diversion happens in April the snag on the rock quotient gets a lot higher with streamers!
