The North Umpqua is still high, but conditions are improving. A few spring Chinook have been moving through and are looking good. Conditions this week should be good for fishing for Chinook and steelhead. There are very few hatchery steelhead in the North Umpqua, so anglers that wish to harvest steelhead would be advised to fish the South Umpqua. All hatchery fish in the Umpqua receive an adipose clip.‌

There is NO HARVEST OF WILD ADULT OR JACK SPRING CHINOOK in the Umpqua this year.
