Fantastic Fishing After 3 day BIG Blow - Report from Capt. John

These guys put some miles on the lake today searching for fish after strong winds that keep us off the lake the past 3 days. Looking for clean water was our top priority first thing in the morning and not really knowing which way to go out of the channel for it as the MODIS satellite imaging of the lake was no help with thick cloud cover the past several days. Decided to head West towards the Ohio Michigan line - little early having to run clear to the chipping channel to find fish but we were rolling the dice. We never made it that far though as we got out into 28 FOW and the graph lit up with fish stacked everywhere - PROBLEM? Water was so muddy as soon as I dropped a test lure over the side of the boat it disappeared as soon as it was submerged, decided to not fish even though the fish were clearly there and continue on towards Michigan waters. The farther North West we got the more of what seamed to be the DEAD SEA as there were no fish marks on the graph of any kind, brought the boat back off plane and thought about it for a minute and decided to not continue on twards Michigan waters but to make a hard 90 degree turn to Port and head back South into the shallows hopping it was not muddy. Got back down into 25 FOW and thexwater collor was spot on with fantastic marks, Wooooo Who! We sent the big boards zipping out and after a quick tutorial for our guests on how to set lines they quickly went to work sending the Bandits back 80 to 45 back. We put 5 fish in the boat rather quickly then as quick as a light switch they just shut off, as I'm watching the graph trying to get a read on this fish they just end up completely disapear on us just like that. We head out farther North, down in tighter back twzrds the East and farther West and NOTHING. after about 20 min of no takers and hardly any marks we pulled all the gear and decided to make a big run to the North out to 31 FOW but on our way we came accross an area loaded with fish, as soon as we sat sat down and started setting gear we got a call from a friend stating they were fishing here for over an hour and had no takers, WELL HELL LOL. With that information did not give me much confidence so we pulled the gear back in begore got to much farther into it and continued on with our original plan - Go out to 31 FOW. We get out there and the water color is great and the graph was showing great marks from about 15 to 31 FOW. We ran bandits 80 to 120 back with the higher leads being the best early on but as soon as the sun FINALLY SHOWED HER SELF the fish drove deeper and the 120 leads were the ticket. Anything Red was definitely the color of choice with LEWC Talladega putting the fish in boat one after the other. We hit a few good pockets of fish giving us some Chinese fire drills to kerp us on our toes, but for the mostcpart it was just a staedy pick of widely scattered active fish. We made our way to 32 of there needed 36 and called it, extremely good day, back at it this morning with thd same crew - LETS GO GET THEM.
