Early Morning FIRE DRILL
Fire Drill with this returning group early this morning, and done by 9am with 28 in the box with an excellent grade once again. This group has been coming to fish with us for the past 3 years now, tried making it happen last year but the weather did not cooperate for us last year.
Bandits again 60 - 65 back unassisted 2.8 to 2.9 early then slowing it down to 2.3 to 2.4 late morning, In 13 to 18 FOW
Back at it again in the morning with the same crew
Round 2 starting shortly with the afternoon crew.
Afternoon Fire Drill
First afternoon trip for Special-Eyes IV of the season could not have gone any better with another awesome crew onboard with us this.
We had gotten back in from our morning trip around 9:30 and after a quick discussion we opted to still wait to head out around 1:30pm instead of just turning and burning as the morning bite just died. So myself and Lyle went for breakfast and waited a few hours to allow the morning boat traffic to clear. That ended up being a fantastic decision as we pretty much had the entire lake to ourselves and the fishing was incredible, not to mention the completely FLAT lake
We opted to switch everything up and try fish a different area of the Lake and instead of targeting 13 to 16 FOW we headed out to 32FOW. So we pulled the Deep Walleye Bandits off and loaded the rods with Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. 40TT and Stinger Spoons from Fishing Addiction Gear.
Program was 40TT loaded with Stinger Spoons 45 - 60 back and after short after short after short we brought everything up to 30 to 35 back and started to catch at an insane rate. We went from 9 walleyes to 31 in 2 hours just an absolutely incredible bite.
We also ran a Dipsey program with Spoons and J7's with the J'7s grabbing the bigger fish. #1 @ 35, #2 @ 45 and #3 @ 55
We did pull off a few Stinger Spoons and exchange them with the Larger Stingray Spoons which as stopped our short fish problems.
Speed was steady @ 2.8 SOG
Thanks for Fishing with Special-Eyes Sportfishing see you guys latter in the season in Ashtabula maybe Lorain for some Steelie action
