http://www.pacificdawn.com/index.phpHey, good morning, gang. This is Captain Loust of the Pacific Dawn crew. We are finishing up our charter, with some big bluefin. I believe the biggest one we have is around 160 pounds. Most of these fish are over 100 pounds. We took our first Bluefin at dark, and an hour and a half later, we had eight of them and we had to come home.
From what I've seen, there's a lot of bluefin, and they want to bite. We just didn't have enough time; our time ran out. We opted to fish the island today because the charter group wanted to. We caught some bass, but the yellowtail in the cove didn't want to bite. We lost all of our current. We have plenty of squid—a nice squid net, and we tanked up on it. No sea bass or yellowtail in the cove this morning due to the lack of conditions.
But we ended up catching limits of reds and a bunch of rockfish and calico bass. We wound up with eight beautiful bluefin at the end of the day. Can't complain; everybody's happy.
We'll be at Fisherman's Landing between 7:30 and 8:00. I believe we are going to be just a little bit late, but these bluefin wanted to bite. It was very hard to beat. Anyway, we leave tomorrow on another two-day trip. Check back in with us later. Hope you guys have a great day. Thank you.
