The Upper Deschutes has been fishing well. Nymphing remains the best for all times of day but dry fly action has been around as well. As far as nymphs jigged leeches, psycho princes, two-bits, golden stones and zebra midges have all been effective. For dries having a good selection of caddis, pmds, drakes and golden stones is a good idea. Dry-dropper setups can be very effective this time of year. Streamers are always fun on the upper too and leeches, crayfish, and small baitfish patterns will get the job done. Don’t forget your bug spray!
