Best bets for weekend fishing‌

We're into the "dog days" of summer fishing where warm weather and water temperatures can make fish sluggish. In these conditions, fish will move into areas with cooler water, such as:‌

• Higher elevation lakes and reservoirs, including hike in lakes, where temperatures are more moderate.
• The upper reaches of streams and rivers where rivers get smaller and are often shaded by trees and shrubs.
• Deeper pools in larger rivers, and deeper water in lakes and reservoirs.
• The ocean where surfperch, salmon, halibut and rockfish are all open.
