The Metolius has been fishing well. It is a good option with the warmer weather we’ve been having as it is a spring creek and stays a consistent temperature. Golden stones are around and dry-dropper setups with a golden stone up top and a nymph or two below are deadly. As far as nymphs go perdigons, nitro caddis, duracells, pheasant tails and jigged leeches have all been working. Swinging around a large streamer is the way to go to target bulls and there are quite a few lake fish in the river already. Balanced leeches and stonefly nymphs can also be effective for bulls. Hatches have been a bit spotty but having a good selection of caddis and PMDs is a wise idea.
