Water Conditions

The Feather river flow is low, but the water temperatures is cooling and its making the fishing better. No inclement weather upcoming.

Tips for the Week

On the Feather River, the best bet for anglers is fishing the top of the rapids thru pools. Use crawlers with little to no weight, or, panther martins in yellow and red.

Suggested Flies, Lures, and Bait

Euro nymphing with hares ear, prince nymph, copper john, or balanced leeches. Panther martins for lures.

Donner Lake: At Donner Lake, the lake levels are starting to recede, but the boat ramp is still working fine
Stampede Reservoir: At Stampede Reservoir, the Kokanee bite has been winding down and is slower than two weeks ago
Prosser Reservoir: Fishing at Prosser Creek Reservoir was slow a few weeks ago, but it has picked up recently

Donner Lake: Anglers will find the mackinaw bite near the bottom of the inlet
Boca Reservoir: Boca Reservoir got stocked with rainbows last week and the fishing has been pretty good
Stampede Reservoir: With the Kokanee fishing slowing down, the trout bite is now picking up
Prosser Reservoir: The water levels at Prosser Creek Reservoir are currently at 80% capacity
Truckee River: The Truckee River is currently flowing out of Lake Tahoe at a rate of 140 CFS
Little Truckee River: The Little Truckee River is currently flowing at 64 CFS out of the bottom of stampede reservoir
