EAST WALKER RIVER

The East is flowing right around 95cfs or so now and is still fishing pretty well, as long as you go downstream of the “Miracle Mile” section. There are plenty of happy fish on past the bridge on Hwy 182 and they’re taking streamers and nymphs pretty well. It sounds like nymphs with a little flash in them like perdigons, rainbow warrior, tailwater tiny, copper John and silver streaks are all doing well and for streamers it’s been sculpzilla, Dali Lama, dead drift crayfish and ziwi’s. The Nevada side of the river is also fishing very well with mostly the same patterns as the California side. We had some pretty cold weather for a few days but now it’s been cold in the mornings but pretty nice during the day. This time of the year it’s not necesary to get out there super early and you should be able to pull some fish throughout the day.

SCEIRINE RANCH

The ranch is still fishing very well with much the same patterns as are working on the California side of the border. Lots of nice fish being caught with both nymphs and streamers down there. If you’d like to book some time on the water down there just give us a call.

HUNEWILL POND

The pond is also still fishing very well with most reports coming in from anaglers getting into 6 or 7 plus fish per half day out there. The weeds are not much of a problem anymore and the fish are plenty active. Most of the action has come by stripping leeches with small nymph droppers but a few anglers have just been twitching small pheasant tails and doing well with that. Give us a call if you’d like to book some time out there.

BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR

Bridgeport is still kicking out some good fish both from the shore as well as from boats. The shore anglers are having some success with mice tails, garlic power bait, pinched crawlers and inflated crawlers and the boat anglers are doing well trolling with Thomas Bouyants, speedy shiners, small Rapalas and night crawlers.

KIRMAN LAKE

We didn’t hear any news from Kirman this week but if/when we do hear something we’ll pass it along.

TWIN LAKES

The Twins have started to liven up a bit with fish up to 6 pounds being reported up there. Shore anglers are doing well with inflated crawlers, mice tails and power bait while lure anglers are using Thomas Bouyants, Rapalas, Hook-Up Baits and Kastmasters. The trolling is still kicking out some fish for anglers that are using lead core or downriggers to get a little deeper.

WEST WALKER RIVER

We didn’t hear much from the West this week but it should still be kicking out some fish with bait and spinners as well as some flies. For bait try salmon eggs and mini crawlers, for lures try Mepps, Panther Martins and Blue Fox lures. If you’re fishing flies you can go with humpy’s, parachute adams and Sierra Brite Dots on top and pheasant tails, hare’s ears and copper johns on the bottom.

VIRGINIA LAKES

The Virginias have started to produce some fish again with bait and lures, the bait anglers are using power bait, mice tails and pinched crawlers and the lure anglers are using Sierra Slammers, Hook-Up Baits and Kastmasters. It’s a bit chilly up there so be sure and dress the part.
