https://troutcreekoutfitters.com/Yet another great week during the best month of what is considered the best year of recent memory. Do we need to say anymore? If you aren’t fishing out here right now, you should be! With a week of stormy days, the bite should be excellent throughout most of the week.
Midges are fishing the best right now by far. We have been fishing more 2 midge setups this year than ever before. We have been mixing the leeches into the rotation on those very windy days. We are still catching twice as many fish on the midge over the leech. Try fishing the leech as your top fly with a midge on the bottom. While we catch fewer fish on the leech, the leech is helping the cause by adding weight and a larger profile to your offering.
The strip bite has yet to truly start up. We expect the strip bite to get better once water temps warm and the cutthroat begin their annual migration towards the shore in an effort to mingle with other single cutthroat.
