The fishing at Pyramid continues to be boom or bust right now. Overcast skies, wind, rain, snow and a dropping barometric pressure are key factors for having a successful day out here, so plan accordingly. We are in the season of midge fishing and stripping streamers, with streamers being best during low light days and midges under the indicator fished the rest of the day. This year there has been a noticeable gap in size classes this year, with a lot of sub-10 pound fish and a good amount of fish over 20 pounds. We are not seeing a lot of mid-teens fish that we saw last year, and there is speculation that this is the age class that would’ve been stocked around 2020-2022, when stocking ceased during the pandemic. That said, we did have a report of a 28 pound fish hitting the net this week, which is one of the biggest of the year… Once again boom or bust out at the lake this year!
