Report: We look forward to late April every year as this is when Fall River really begins to fish! It could be a good place to head as the weather warms. Probably not a lot is going on right now on daily. However, early season hatches are epic. Look for Blue Wing Olive and midges to be the predominant inscects for now. As we warm up you can see some early PMD and Callibaetis, Green Drakes if you are lucky. Keep in mind the large, mature rainbows are up in the tributaries spawning and will make their way back down into the river in May. Baetis and Callibaetis nymphs under the Fathead Moth is a good combination when the fish aren't rising. Strip Pine Squirrel Leeches and Water Boatmen in the mid-day and afternoons.
