San Diego's long range fleet is in port this week. At this time of year it's normal for the boats to do their annual maintenance, getting ready for spring fishing. Most owners and skippers could be seen working at the fishing show last week, signing up next season's anglers.
Red Rooster III will depart tomorrow on a 23-day Loftus-Martin trip, returning March 24, the day the Del Mar Fred Hall Show begins.
Royal Polaris has returned from her latest nature trip, and will head out on the annual 18-day Jerry Brown Line One Spectra open trip on Sunday, March 14. She'll return on April 1, no joke.
