ALIJOS BANK!!! Our night at Alijos Bank was uneventful till about 4am this morning when a few big yellowtail began to show. The tuna soon followed and stole the show. Yellowfin in the 40-60# range dominated the catch all day long, several bigger fish kept the excitement high. An aggressive mako shark took its dozen then left us alone mid day. The bite slowed some but then came on strong again this afternoon with a flurry again at sunset. This 8 day Spring trip aboard the Shogun has turned out to be a great tuna fishing trip. We are staying put here on the bank and giving the big yellows and tuna our full attention tomorrow. Sardines fished on 40# gear and double trouble under the kite were the standard techniques today.
