GREAT TIME TO BE AN ANGLER!!! Yes indeed, it is a great time to be an angler. Fish are biting everywhere, from Alaska to Baja. We just returned from our Rancho Leonero Spring Tournament and it was fantastic. The 55 participants in the tournament had perfect weather and very good fishing overall for the Spring. Big roosterfish, lots of tuna, some wahoo and marlin. Most of all, a good time was had by all and our hosts John and Jeniffer Ireland and their staff made sure everyone enjoyed themselves. Southern California and Baja long range fishing is on fire! Barracuda in the Huntington Flats, white sea bass at Catalina, and yellowtail and barracuda from La Jolla, Point Loma and the flats just inside the Coronado Islands. Long range boats are having great stops on bluefin tuna to 50 pounds and plenty of albacore. The fish are still in 3 day trip range, but moving northeast rapidly, so by show time this weekend, we may hear reports from the local waters. It is truly time to go fishing!
