http://www.lakesabrinaboatlanding.comNow that 'school's out for the summer', lots more people at the Lake. Kids from the CaliforniaHighSchoolState Rodeo Finals were up at the Lake sporting their contestant numbers, boots and spurs. Clayton VanAken form DesCanso (east of San Diego) landed a nice-looking 2-pound rainbow on a NightCrawler - we think this one might have been a natural. A few of the Alpers stocked a week ago for the Bishop Creek Canyon Derby were taken - Loren Scott of Highland landed a 3-pounder on a Pink Power Egg, while Brockman Blair of Temecula pulled in a 2-1/2 lbs on a Red and Gold Thomas Buoyant. Forth Hoyt of Folsom caught a 2-1/4 lbs Rainbow on a NightCrawler.
Lots of Dads up at the Lake celebrating Father's Day with their kids and grandkids. Grandpa John Berry (Palmdale) showed grandson Sebastian Reynoso (Las Vegas) just how to catch a nice 2-1/4 pounder on a NightCrawler. Then there was the private fishing tournament - The Table Mountain Annual Fishing Invitational - participants (neighbors, siblings, college friends) from Santa Barbara, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Corona, Riverside & San Luis Obispo met at Lake Sabrina on Saturday - the winners: Bryan Barnes - biggest overall fish, Julia Palmquist - longest fish, Tom Mason - heaviest stringer, Monica Hanson - smallest fish. Congratulations to All!
Catching was GREAT for some this week and not so good for others. Fishing the inlets is the best with NightCrawlers, Salmon Eggs or PowerBait. Trolling is picking up with flashers and a worm, small spinners or just dragging a WoolyBugger. Shore fishing with NightCrawlers or PowerBait. We got the first stocking from Department of Fish and Game on Tuesday.

Remember your polarized dark glasses and sunscreen. You've got that sun coming at you in all directions and the rays from the snow are deadly! Haven't seen too many of those skeeters yet, but best come prepared with some bug juice - just in case. Also, remember when applying sunscreen, bug juice or any other FU-FU juice, WASH YOUR HANDS! The juice you apply will taint your tackle and bait. You know it tastes yucky, the fish think it tastes yucky, too, although have you ever tasted PowerBait or Worms - to each their own. Lake Sabrina Boat Landing has gone to summer hours. That means we'll be opening at 7:00am and stay open until 7:00pm. The Café is now open daily for Breakfast at 7:00am to 11:00am with Lunch being served from 11:00am to 4:00pm. We have homemade pie, sodas, beer, wine, coffee, tea and hot cocoa. The Lake Sabrina crew is looking forward to seeing you all this year.
