Fishing activity has been high as anglers from Las Vegas try to escape the heat. Worms, PowerBait and spinners have all been producing fish, said Pete Gill, supervisor at Spring Valley State Park. Most of the action is for stocked rainbows, although fishermen have also been catching a few tiger trout. Some areas of the reservoir are beginning to see some moss growth. Nighttime temperatures are still dipping into the mid 20s, but the days are reaching into the high 70s to low 80s.
