Striped bass fishing has picked up substantially during the past week. Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) creel clerks checked 234 stripers at one of the fish cleaning stations in one day. Most of those were caught in the Vegas Bay arm though shore anglers have also been catching some fish along the beaches. In the Overton arm fishermen are catching fish at in the vicinity of Ann Marguret beach and The Meadows. One trio of anglers had 35 stripers. Anglers have also been reeling in some catfish with much of the action coming in the Vegas Bay arm where some of the fish are reaching the three- to five-pound range. During a recent tournament, bass fishermen found good action for both large and small mouth bass from Callville Bay to Echo Bay.
