Another incredible variety catch report comes from Puerto Morelos, Mexico, that includes a dozen different species and a couple of unidentified bottom fish in the mix. The overall combined fish report for 24 days fished on 4-6-8-hour charters, reflected 1 sailfish, 22 Atlantic barracuda, 87 bonito, 3 amberjack, 2 jack cravelle, 10 Spanish mackerel, 2 king mackerel, 1 grouper, 2 triggerfish, 6 snappers, 1 pargo, and 5 miscellaneous bottom fish. This is one of the fun fishing areas for the region as the water deepens rapidly just out in front of the Marina El Cid, dropping off to more than 100 fathoms and attracting a wide array of big and small game fishes very close to the shoreline.

PM Climate: Mostly cloudy days with some scattered P.M. thunderstorms and light tropical breezes at 5-10 knots from the east.

Sea Conditions: Very mild sea conditions with light surface breezes and calmer waters that reflected stable temps at 86 degrees throughout the area.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged and un-rigged ballyhoo continue to be the bait of choice for all of the area crews.

Bait Supply: Very available for ballyhoo.
