Greetings from Lake Cuyamaca. Things are looking up now that we have had some cool weather. The water temp came down to 66 degrees so we were able to stock 1000 pounds nice Rainbows from Jess Ranch and 1200 pounds of DFG Rainbows on Wednesday. Fishing is Great. The Crappie and Catfish continue to bite which is good fun for the kids. The Bass have been active down in the South End. Lots of prople catching fish today including Lynn Rizci of San Diego. Using salmon egg power bait at the dam.

The staff here at the lake are gearing up for the O.P. Ball "Fishin in the Pines" Free Kids Fishing Derby which will be on September 25 this year. The 12th Annual. Those kids ages 4 thru 15 can fish free. There will be prizes and free hot dog lunch. Call the number below for details. Don't forget the free fishing class is held every Saturday at 10 AM at the Launch Ramp. The Decontamination washdown is required for all private vessels and motors before a launch. To make reservations for camping, condos or cabins, call 877-581-9904. We do not take reservations online. We are open daily at 6 AM. Shore fishing ends at 7:30 PM. We now have showers in our north shore campground. You can use your canoes and kayaks on the lake. Remember, they will need to be washed down before launching.
