http://www.fishingvideos.comWIRELESS SHOGUN FLYER (092810)!!! A six-day Team Redondo charter aboard Shogun returned to Fisherman's Landing with skipper Bruce Smith September 28. Co-chartermasters Gary LaCroix and David Choate were pleased with the decision to run to the Rocks. "Bruce asked us if we wanted to spend the trip yankin' and crankin' on Yellowtail or shoot for quality Yellowfin at the Rocks," Choate said at the jackpot weigh in, where his 84.8-pound Tuna won first place. "We all wanted to go to Alijos, and it worked out. We ended up having two full days of good fishing on 50 to 80-pound Tuna. It was wide-open a couple times on that second day." Choate fished a sardine on a 5/0 Mustad Hoodlum hook, 60-pound Seaguar fluorocarbon premium, an Accurate BX-2 600 reel, and a Seeker CJBF 65 XH rod. Bill Rhodes of Lomita won second with a 76.8-pound Tuna, and Dave Simpson of Huntington Beach won third with a 74.6-pound Yellowfin. Wes Pierson of Newport Beach posed with his first ever Wahoo; a 50-pounder caught on a fly-lined sardine without wire. "We got about ten Wahoo," he said. "I'd say only one was caught using wire."
