The dorado action continues to set the pace for Mazatlan anglers for both inshore and offshore action. The offshore fishing was a bit slow for billfish this past week but the dorado counts kept the anglers busy with sufficient action to produce near limits of dorado and some quality fish to 45 lbs., too. It is still slow for fishermen in this area and there were only 7 fishing days completed in the offshore waters that reflected 1 sailfish and 51 dorado for the efforts. The inshore super pangas, also reporting for a total of 7 days, reflected 44 dorado, 15 corvina, 6 barracuda, 1 yellowfin tuna, 6 red snapper and 20 mojarres, reflecting good all-day action for the anglers.

Mazatlan Climate: A mostly sunny week with few clouds and temps that ranged from 77 nights to 90 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Overall, near calm with very light surface breezes in the 5-10 knot ranges and temps at 86 offshore and rising to 88 inshore. Greenish tint to about 18 miles, then bluing.

Best Lure/Bait: Artificials working well for the dorado as well as live bait on the slide when a dorado bites the lure.

Best Fishing Area: No specific area producing best with equal catches coming from most directions westerly.

Bait supply: Readily available for both rigged and live bait.
