A good action week from the Aries Sportfishing Fleet at the Marina El Cid, in Mazatlan. For the first time in months and months, we had the entire fleet out fishing and the fish counts reflected the increased activity. Overall fish counts for a total of 54 fished days reflected 5 blue marlin, (all under 350 lbs.) 4 striped marlin, 19 sailfish, 1 hammerhead shark, 8 dorado and 1 yellowfin tuna. The inshore super pangas had another banner fishing week that reflected 2 black snook, (40-inchers), 1 dorado, 2 corvina, 2 pampano, 25 Sierra, 29 cochitos, 10 roncanchos and limits of mojarres for a total of 6 days fished. It was good, fast action for the anglers, with a steady bite most of the day.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny and warm during the early week and changing to partly cloudy as the week progressed, temps at 60 nights to 86 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: 76 inshore temps and rising to 81 offshore. Water is green to about 10 miles, then bluing beyond the 10 miles mark.

Best Fishing Area: Most of the offshore fishing was in the 26-25 miles area for the offshore waters.

Best Lure/Bait: 76 inshore water temps and rising to 81 offshore and clean water from about 10 miles or so. Not much wind or swell which is typical of the area.
