http://www.sportfishingreport.comMEXICAN BAJA COAST TRIP (020511)!!! I arrived at Seaforth Landing in San Diego last Friday at 4:30 p.m. I met Captain Jody Morgan and the crew for the first time. Later about 6 pm they took me out for squid fishing. We loaded up a full tank of squid for our bait for the next day. I was so excited! There were a lot of regulars on this trip. All of them loved fishing on this boat. It made you feel like you were on a charter trip. Everybody is also super friendly. We left the dock about 9 pm. We had a great day of fishing the next day along the Mexican Baja coast. Our trip was blessed with nice weather and glassy water. We fished light tackle style for Calico Bass, Sand Bass and Rockfish. Darrell Hillhouse caught a 23.11 lb Black Seabass in the morning. Later in the afternoon, Captain Jody took us to deeper water about 200 feet for shallow Rockcod fishing. We bagged a lot of fish. We ended up with 61 Calico Bass, 9 Sheephead, 14 Sand Bass, and 85 Rockfish for 17 anglers. Take it from me- this is the best fishing combo trip you could ever have! Bring an ultra-light outfit along with your medium heavy outfit. I promise you that you will have fun and a memorable time on this boat. Captain Jody finds fish with 25 years of experience in this area. Fishing with him makes you feel it is summer already. This boat will be on my number one list. I would like to thank Captain Jody, 2nd Captain Harry, Noah, and gourmet cook Maris. She is the best! All the food that she served was fabulous. There's still some open schedule to choose from for your own charter. Get it while you can. Book it through Seaforth Landing at (619)224-3383 or ask for my buddy Mr. Mark Larson at the dock. He'll be glad to assist you.
