http://www.countyofsb.org/parks/cachuma.sbcThe recent cold front has put off the trout bite somewhat, with most anglers reporting only fair action trolling lead core to e colors with flashers and rapalas. There was a 4,000 lb plant from the Calaveras hatchery which should provide excellent action in the upcoming weeks.
As far as Bass, it was last known that both largemouth and smallmouth had moved up into shallow water, and were taking a variety of lures. Jerk baits blades, and plastics have all been working.
Bow fishing for carp has been productive with double digit numbers of 8 to 10 lb. bugle mouths taken in almost any cove on the lake.
Crappie have yet to turn on, as well as red ear catfish and bluegill.BR>
Look for kayaks and canoes to be allowed on the lake in the very near future.

Heavy storms have made for a lack of fishermen but have gone a long way to filling the lake. Trolling lead core at 2 to 3 to 3 colors with needle fish and dodger and crawler combos have been producing in Cachuma Bay, the dam area and in front of Harveys.
